3 Best Business Finance Books

Owning a business is always about money. And managing your money well is important whether you’re just starting out, or have been a business owner for years. These books will teach you how to have a healthy relationship with money and how to practically manage your money as a business owner. I have read all of these books and in my opinion, these are the 3 best business finance books I think every business owner should read.

 

You Are a Badass at Making Money | Master the Mindset of Wealth By Jen Sincero

Jen is well known for her book “You Are A Badass”. This book has a similar concept but instead focuses on building confidence in a money mindset. She shares her own money mindset story and journey. I found it very relatable and comforting to know that there are others who have struggled with money and were able to move past those limiting beliefs and build wealth. A great read that gives you tools to build confidence in your money mindset. 

 

I Will Teach You to Be Rich, Second Edition By Ramit Sethi

This book is all about practical, actionable financial advice. And it’s written for everyone, not just business owners. Ramit breaks down how to open checking accounts, what credit cards to use (and how), automating your savings, credit score, paying off debt, and so much more. The copy shown above is a second edition with the most recent up-to-date information. Since writing this book, Ramit has grown to become a wildly successful entrepreneur, primarily in the online learning community. Profit First By Mike Michalowicz

I have recommended this book dozens of times. Similar to Ramit, Mike talks a lot about automating your finances. He explains his easy, proven system of creating designated checking accounts for each of the parts of your business (income, operating expenses, taxes, etc.). His method of systemizing and organizing money saves you time and makes finances less of a mental burden. Throughout the book, he primarily speaks to business owners. However, he also touches on implementing this system for personal finances.
