We all know a website is important for any business. It’s a place for people to learn about your business, and hopefully, decide to work with you or buy your product. Essentially, the goal of your website should be to convert your website visitors to customers. Below are five ways to improve your site’s effectiveness and increase your website’s conversions.
1. Professional imagery
Professional images and videos can make or break a site. Having gorgeous images for your brand is an instant credibility builder. These images and videos can also help humanize your brand, quickly explain your offerings, and how you help your customers.

2. Professional Copy and Clear Messaging
People won’t buy from images alone. The words you use are essential for your potential customers to understand how your product or service will make their life better. Simplicity is key here. Avoid cutesy words/phrases, insider lingo, and big words. Your viewers are busy, with limited attention spans. Don’t make it hard for them to understand what you do and how you help them. Remember, if you confuse, you lose.

3. Valuable Content in Exchange For An Email
An email list is powerful. It provides an intimate place (their email inbox) to build a relationship with your customers until they’re ready to buy. Let’s face it – no one cares about your newsletter. However, if you can provide something of value to your ideal customer in exchange for their email, most are happy to make that trade. This can be a PDF download, e-book, video course, private waitlist, etc.
4. A Clear Sales Path
When a customer lands on your website what is the next action you want them to take? Contact you? Purchase an item? Buy the course? Those main call-to-action buttons should be repeated throughout the site and it should be easy for them to understand what next step you want them to take.
Keep in mind as your viewer travels through the site, they may be ready to buy or inquire at the first page, or the second, or the third. Repeat the main call to action, while still giving them opportunities to learn more if they need more information before purchasing or inquiring.
Take Sound By Design’s website for example. At the bottom of their home page, they have two paths for the viewer to take. Either inquire or learn more about their services.

5. Credibility Builders
Social proof will always be powerful. Think about it, we buy things based on what our friends and other people recommend. This could be testimonials, in-depth case studies of client projects, logos from reputable past clients/customers. Be sure you’re communicating your awesomeness on your site!

Which of these tactics could you implement to improve your website’s effectiveness?
